What To Expect

Starting the therapy process can be intimidating, however Central Florida Therapy Solutions is your one stop S.P.O.T - making it easy and convenient to support your families needs! We are open Monday - Friday.

Obtain A Script

A script / referral from your physician is required before we can schedule an evaluation. Evaluations are the first step in the process of therapy to determine what areas of weakness are present and if therapy would be beneficial for your child. Please ask your physician to fax a referral to your desired CFTS location. If your physician provides you with a copy please email a copy to REFERRALS@CFTS-INC.COM or fax to 407.265.9590 Longwood -- 386.960.0624 Orange City

Schedule

Once a referral is received our scheduling coordinators will reach out to schedule the evaluation(s). Once the evaluation is scheduled you will receive paperwork to complete online, prior to your appointment. This paperwork will help us understand your child's needs prior to the evaluation and help us better prep for what testing to provide. This paperwork will come from intakeQ, please check your spam if not received.

Once scheduled, please consider providing current IEP evaluations, previous OT/PT/ST plan of cares, as well as neurological/developmental pediatrician evaluations if available.

Evaluation

During the evaluation our therapists will use observations, formal assessments and standardized measures to determine your child's individual skills to guide therapeutic sessions. A parent interview will be conducted as well to give our therapists a more in depth background of your child's interests, developmental milestones, and challenges in their natural environments. A plan of care will then be created to address your child’s specific needs.
For Feeding Evaluations please bring in at least 3 non-preferred foods and 3 preferred foods to address this concern.

Therapy Plan

If your child will benefit from and qualifies for services, therapy sessions will be scheduled on a weekly basis. We will thoughtfully match you with a therapist with expertise in the area for which you are seeking services (ex: AAC, bilingual, SOS Feeding, etc.). Our therapists will structure your child's care plan based on specific goals/concerns addressed during the evaluation. During the care plan, you and the therapist may decide to make changes throughout, to further promote success.

Treatment

Treatment sessions will be tailored to your child's needs based on the plan of care and our professional recommendations. Our therapists are skilled in using the power of PLAY to strengthen your child's skills, whether it be for Speech, Physical, and/or Occupational Therapy.

Results

We ask that families assist with the carryover of goals each week following their child's therapy session. Your work along with their therapists will assist in a more positive and quicker result process. Families often see positive progress within the first few weeks of consistent therapy sessions. Our team of pediatric board certified therapists are ready to help your child reach their highest potential.

Discharge

When therapy goals and developmental milestones have been reached, it's time for graduation!
