OCCUPATIONAL therapy

Pediatric Occupational Therapy facilitates the development of all ages - newborn to teens through the power of play to further develop your child's cognitive, motor, social, sensory processing, and emotional regulation skills. At CFTS, our passionate and enthusiastic therapists thrive on this play-driven and family centered care to instill confidence and independence in every day tasks now and into their adulthood.

Skills we work on

Eating / Feeding

Our skilled Occupational Therapists work to provide the necessary oral motor, fine motor, and sensory processing skills required for your child eat various foods and textures, as well as feed themselves independently.

Motor skills

Through the power of PLAY, our CFTS Occupational Therapists aim to promote age-appropriate fine and gross motor skills to increase your child's independence in skills such as dressing, self-feeding with utensils, riding a scooter, and more!

Dressing

At CFTS, our board certified OTs aim to promote skills in dressing such as manipulating fasteners, crossing midline, postural control, and more!

Attention

Whether it is following multi-step directions, filtering background noise, or working on a non-preferred task...our OTs work to create opportunities and educate our patients and families on the appropriate strategies to increase your child's attention in various settings - classrooms, school, and more.

Play

Most people's first thought of "Occupational Therapy" is related to a job...and they're correct! A child's main job at their age is to PLAY! At CFTS our OTs are professionals at playing and creating functional play opportunities that are meaningful to not only your child, but you as caregivers and parents as well!

sensory processing

Through play oriented therapy sessions our Occupational Therapists will expose your child to sensory stimulation in a structured and repetitive way resulting in them being able to process and react to sensations more efficiently. This includes sensations such as visual, tactile (touch), smell, auditory (hear), vestibular (balance), and proprioceptive (movement).
